Like many popular social media platforms, TikTok allows viewers to send a small monetary donation to a creator as a way to show thanks for their content. Influencers will receive 100% of the Tip and can either receive a set donation or a customized amount. The set donations are $5, $10, or $15. It should be noted that those who have a TikTok Business Account are not able to receive Tips.

  • Have a minimum of 10,000 followers.Are aged 18 or over.Follow all of the TikTok Community Guidelines and have very few violations of these rules.Gain 1,000 views or more on videos you have posted in the last 30 days.Post 3 videos or more in the last 30 days.

It is important to understand that these requirements are for US citizens only. Due to the nature of monetization, many other countries follow different rules to ensure that they are abiding by the rules of their native Chamber of Commerce. 

What is LIVE Subscription on TikTok?

In May 2022, TikTok announced the launch of the LIVE Subscription feature, an extension of the TikTok Live platform that allows viewers to join a monthly subscription to support their favorite creators. Presently, the feature is available through invite but TikTok hopes that the feature will be rolled out further during the next coming months. TikTok has not revealed how much the subscription will cost but has stated that influencers will receive payments via PayPal.
