Logitech has released a new firmware update to Circle 2 cameras that adds snapshot alerts for free. The feature sends a still image as a notification to your iPhone when motion is detected so you can know if it needs your attention or not.

Snapshot alerts can be turned on from Logitech’s mobile app after updating Circle 2 to the latest firmware update.

Firmware is updated from the settings section within the app for each camera individually. Wired Logitech Circle 2 cameras are one of just a few HomeKit-connected cameras on the market.

For customers with multiple Circle 2 cameras, Logitech has also announced an expansion of its subscription service.

While the new snapshot alert feature is free, Circle Safe Premium subscribers will have an advanced version of the feature:

-For up to 5 cameras, Circle Safe Basic Home starts at $6.99/month or $69/year and Circle Safe Premium Home starts at $17.99/month or $179/year. If you own 5 cameras, that’s just $1.15/month per camera if you choose the Basic plan and $2.98/month per camera when you choose Premium

Logitech Circle 2 with HomeKit compatibility is available for $179.99. The companion iPhone app is free on the App Store.
