A new behind-the-scenes video from Loki shows Tom Hiddleston flying high. Loki Laufeyson has appeared in six Marvel movies, starting with Thor back in 2011. Loki “died” a number of times in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only for his death to be undone in one way or another. Loki seemed to die for good in Avengers: Infinity War, as Thanos says, “No resurrections this time.” Hiddleston then appeared as Loki from an alternate reality in Avengers: Endgame and Disney officially announced the Loki TV series near the end of 2018.

For the time being, Disney is more concerned with advertising The Falcon and The Winter Soldier since that is the first Marvel TV series to be released on Disney+, but they’ve made sure fans haven’t forgotten about Loki. Fans have continually been updated on the status of Loki, which is now in pre-production. Hiddleston is of course returning to star, but instead of playing the original Loki, the Loki that escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame will be featured. Loki will premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2021 and will include six episodes (all of which will be directed by Kate Herron). Fans previously got a BTS image for Loki that teased time-travel, but now fans can check out the first BTS video as well.

Posted on Instagram by Hiddleston himself, the new video shows the actor practicing a stunt for Loki. The actor jumps in the air (with the assistance of cables) before flopping onto a mat. Clearly, this is only prep for a scene since Hiddleston isn’t in costume and because there isn’t a green screen in use. Hiddleston’s full post can be seen below.

Fans are no doubt thrilled to see Hiddleston play his famous character again, but he will also be sharing the screen with Sophia Di Martino, who was added to the cast last November in an undisclosed role. It was rumored that Di Martino could be playing female Loki, but that hasn’t been confirmed just yet. The story is also a mystery at this point, but it will involve time travel and will tie directly to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. That being said, that last revelation was announced before Scott Derrickson left the Doctor Strange sequel, so it’s unknown if/how this could affect the story of Loki.

There are several Marvel projects coming to Disney+, but Loki is among the most anticipated since many fans thought Hiddleston was out of the MCU after Avengers: Infinity War. While he was set up as a villain, Loki has become a fan favorite character due to his number of appearances in the franchise. Loki has been around since the early days of the MCU, so if any villain deserves to get his own show, it’s Loki. Getting behind-the-scenes videos like this may not reveal anything about the series, but it no doubt gets fans more excited to see Loki.
