The three-part Love Is Blind: After The Altar special recently became available on Netflix, allowing fans to catch up with the two married couples and the other cast members who matched but decided not to get married. It was fascinating seeing how everyone was doing and learning more behind-the-scenes secrets about the couples who got engaged but said no when standing before each other on their big day.

  • Now that season 2 of Love Is Blind has been out for several months and viewers have watched a reunion special plus a three-part update, fans feel like they know the season 2 cast members very well. The cast has shared their hearts on TV and also are vulnerable and open with fans on their social media accounts. There is a lot that fans want to know about.

While the cast members are open and honest about a lot of things, fans want to know more, from their careers to what they think about the experience of being on the reality series.

Shayne Works In Real Estate And Was A Personal Trainer

Shayne Jansen has made some fans wonder if he and Natalie Lee are a good match. When they made it to Mexico, Shayne started questioning parts of Natalie’s personality, which wasn’t great to see.

According to The Sun, Shayne is a real estate broker for Chicago’s RNP Group Real Estate. He has a Business Administration and Marketing degree from The University of Wisconsin and then was a personal trainer for a period of three years after getting licensed through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Two Season 2 Couples Matched Up As Well

Like in season 1, some season 2 couples decided to get engaged, but Netflix didn’t keep following them.

According to Netflix.com, two other relationships blossomed from the pods. Joey Miller and Caitlin McKee got engaged, along with Jason Beaumont and Kara Williams. Both couples split up but have nice things to say about being together. It would always be great to see more of these romances, and since there’s not enough screen time for them, it would be fun to see them in a separate Netflix Love Is Blind special.

Nick Loves To Volunteer

Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl have been an interesting couple to follow in season 2 of Love Is Blind. After bonding in the pods, they had some conflict in Mexico, and fans stayed hopeful that they could work on communication and say yes at the altar.

According to Meaww.com, Nick has volunteered for YouthBuild Lake Country, My Starving Children, and Bernie’s Book Bank. For work, he’s a vice president of product marketing and says he is a “humanist” in the bio section of his Instagram account.

Deepti Is A Fan Of Travel

The Love Is Blind cast has high social media followings, and from the moment that she was introduced, fans wanted to see more of Deepti Vempati. Deepti is smart, sweet, and compassionate.

According to Marie Claire, Vempati enjoys traveling and fans can learn more about her trips on her Instagram account. She has gone to India, Banff, Singapore, and Hawaii, to name just a few places, and has Instagram highlights about these vacations.

Danielle Has Worked In Social Media And Marketing

Throughout much of season 2, Danielle was honest about feeling insecure and worrying about her growing relationship with Nick. Fans want to know more about Danielle, as she has been a kind and engaging cast member.

According to Elite Daily, Danielle was an intern working in social media at Hard Core Brands International when she was a college student. Now Danielle holds the title of associate marketing director.

Deepti Got Along Well With The Other Contestants

In both seasons 1 and 2 of Love Is Blind, viewers saw the cast members spending time together in an area when they weren’t in the pods, grabbing meals and drinks. This also gave them the chance to commiserate about what was happening.

Deepti told The List in an interview that it was helpful to be able to talk to her other contestants about what was going on. Deepti said, “You go on this intense date and you go through stages of these intense dates…” and continued, “They were really my support system and I really loved engaging with them and going through all the emotions.”

Shayne Doesn’t Like When People Are Late

While fans wanted changes for Love Is Blind season 2, several things feel the same, including the fact that more will be revealed about the season 2 cast once the finale airs and fans find out who got married, who stayed together, and who split up.

Everyone has dating pet peeves and while fans have learned some things about what the contestants are looking for in a potential partner, the cast members have also shared a lot on social media. According to Shayne’s Instagram account, Shayne says “Someone always late is a turn-off!”

Hope Didn’t Get Engaged, But Shared Her Experience

While viewers saw some cast members very quickly in the first two episodes of season 2, the focus shifted to the six couples who did get engaged. Some people were filmed more than others, as viewers learned that Nick and Danielle had a connection, along with Mallory and Sal and Jarette.

Hope Antoniello-Foley was only in season 2 of Love Is Blind briefly, but she told Netflix.com that she was glad to be on it. Hope explained, “I want viewers to know that they don’t have to be a size zero or tall, skinny and blond like the people society always thinks are getting chosen."

Shaina Found The Love Triangle Tough

When comparing the Love Is Blind cast members, fans saw a love triangle that felt familiar: as Shayne connected with both Natalie and Shaina Hurley in season 2, Barnett connected with Amber and Jessica in season 1 (and Jessica with Barnett and Mark).

In an interview with The List, Shaina said, “The part that was so hard was that I didn’t have my family support. I didn’t have my friends back home.” Shaina continued, “I felt a little bit lost and blind in the situation … love is blind!”

There’s A Lot Of Footage That Wasn’t Shown

In an interview with The LA Times, creator Chris Coelen shared that the couples talk about a lot of things in the pods that don’t make it to the Netflix series as there are around 30,000 hours of footage.

Coelen said that means that the contestants do discuss politics, but that didn’t make it in to the show. He said, “sometimes people will go, ‘Oh, my God, don’t tell me you voted for so-and-so.’ And that was like a deal breaker for them.”

Deepti Wrote A Book

Deepti and Kyle Abrams explored their romantic feelings for each other in the After The Altar special and said that they were both nervous about turning their friendship into something more. While they did start dating, Kyle and Deeps have shared that they have since broken up.

According to People, Deepti wrote a book called I Choose Myself. Deepti posted the news on her Instagram account and shared about wanting to be “vulnerable” and talk about her experiences on the reality series. The book was released on September 19th, 2022.

Shaina Got Married

In the season 2 After The Altar special, Shaina introduced viewers to her then-boyfriend Christos Lardakis, who she had connected with after knowing him for a few years. Shaina and Christos seemed happy and Shaina shared that this was a great relationship. Shaina made a dramatic entrance at the 80s-themed birthday party for Natalie and said that they were engaged.

People reported that Shaina and Christos got married in July 2022. The wedding was in Vouliagmeni, Greece.

The Two Season 2 Married Couples Are Getting Divorced

Before the After The Altar episodes became available, news came out that both season 2 married couples decided to split up. In these 3 episodes, Jarrette and Iyana shared that they were having relationship troubles and that Iyana had moved out, and they also had a heartwarming but tough dinner with both sets of parents to talk about the situation.

Danielle and Nick’s split came as a surprise to viewers as in the special, they didn’t hint at any problems and seemed to be happy. The couple has each spoken about this tough time on their Instagram accounts.
