Are Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed still together after their hastily formed love connection on the brand new Netflix show Love Is Blind? Many people have taken a microscope to their Instagram pages to find out.
Love Is Blind is a new concept with some elements of other shows mixed in. During the first part of the show, which takes during a good chunk of the first five episodes, the contestants speed date one another without being able to see each other. It would seem ridiculous for couples to form that deep of a connection without any physical intimacy, but some experience deep feelings instantly. To no surprise the woman with the last name Speed and the man who shares a last name with a famous formula race car driver (Lewis Hamilton) fall for each other in record time. On only the fourth day of speed dating, Speed, 32, confesses to Hamilton, 29, just how strong her feelings are.
Speed tells Hamilton, “I think I love you.” And Hamilton, who treats this whole process as if its his religion, responds, assuredly, “I love you.” He is the first of anyone to propose, and Speed excitedly says yes. When the two meet face to face, they both appear happy to see each other. But Speed confesses she didn’t know he was white. While she has never dated a white man before, she is more worried about what her parents will think. It becomes one of the biggest cliffhangers moving into the next set of episodes, whether her family will accept Hamilton as they careen toward a marriage that is occurring way too soon for any of these couples to really know the person they’re preparing to say “I do” to.
Some sites have gone to great lengths to attempt to figure out whether Hamilton and Speed are together. Their Instagram pages don’t include pictures of one another, but that is likely to avoid spoiling the outcome. While some have gone as far as to look at the reflection in Hamilton’s sunglasses in on a since-deleted Instagram post to find the answer, it is safe to say no average fan truly knows whether they remain together until this day.
What can be inferred is that many of these couples will have their struggles, even if they do make it to the altar. As other shows like [insert literally any other reality dating show in which engagement or marriage is involved here] have shown, forcing someone to get betrothed after only a short time together is a recipe for disaster. That being said, Hamilton and Speed seem like one of the strongest couples at the moment, so there’s a nonzero chance things work out.
