It was revealed on the latest string of episodes on Love Is Blind that Amber Pike is struggling financially. Is that something her fiancé Matt Barnett can look past as he prepares to marry her?

Barnett started this journey in a love triangle (quadrangle?), having to decide between Jessica Batten, Lauren “LC” Chamblin and Pike. After struggling to commit to Batten, he had to choose either LC or Pike. He went with Pike, the first woman we saw him have a strong connection with. Since then, they explored the physical aspects of their relationship in Cancun and moved in together. The biggest hurdle in their relationship has been Pike’s financial problems, which she recently revealed to Barnett. He didn’t appear thrilled, but it seemed like something he was willing to look past in the moment.

Heading into wedding day, Barnett and Pike have had one of the strongest relationships thus far. As Damian Powers and Giannina Gibelli have fought constantly, Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton have had to overcome her father’s hesitancy about her dating a white man and Kenny and Kelly have waited to have sex. Barnett and Pike have done quite the opposite, displaying the greatest physical chemistry of any couple on the show.

It may not be enough, however. We see in the lead-up to the finale that one person is taking his time saying “I do.” In the preview for the season, it shows a runaway bride, presumably portending that at least one woman doesn’t find her happy ending. It could be Pike, if Barnett realizes that it won’t practically work between them.

The two seemed like a perfect match at the start. While Barnett’s sarcasm rubbed many women the wrong way, Pike was smitten by his sense of humor. They were both from Georgia, so they were able to bond over past experiences. Barnett was a little intimidated by Pike, but when they saw each other for the first time, they had an instant connection. That has carried them all the way to the altar. But every couple must face the reality of spending their entire life with one other person when they get married, and that means considering every potential problem that might arise. If Barnett thinks about how they may work in the real world, he may be tempted to say “I don’t.” Or maybe he is determined to make it work, because for as much as money can be a concern, it should not derail a perfectly strong relationship.
