The fans of Love Is Blind have many opinions on the show, and one of them is that Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton better get married at the end of all this. The two have hit some bumps in the road along the way, but their love for each other is so adorable that it’s impossible to not wish for their happy ending.
The love story between Hamilton and Speed blossomed before any of the other ones. It was only the fourth day - the fourth day!!! - before Speed confessed she was falling in love with Hamilton and he said he loved her. Though they were both attracted to each other when they met face to face, Speed was worried what her family might think about her dating a white man for the first time. They enjoyed a drama-free time in Cancun and cleared the gauntlet of the meeting with Speed’s mother and father. Hamilton, though, has appeared so ready while Speed sounds a little more practical about the whole process.
Speed expressed to Hamilton that she honestly wasn’t sure if she’d be ready to say “I do.” It’s scary thing to tell a fiancé a day before a wedding, but also a completely reasonable thing to say to someone you just met a few weeks ago. Hamilton, on the other hand, has seemed so sure that he wants to marry Speed that it’s kind of weird.
Nonetheless, their love has galvanized a growing fan base with not a ton of couples to root for. Matt Barnett has a few negative qualities. Jessica Batten sounds like she’s dragging along Mark Cuevas just to dump him. Damian Powers and Giannina Gibelli have rarely been happy together since moving in together in Atlanta. And we just haven’t seen enough of Kelly Chase and Kenny Barnes to become fully invested in their love.
Hamilton and Speed’s potential marriage is an important one to showcase. While interracial relationships are nothing new in the world, the way they are portrayed on television are usually as an outlier - like in The Bachelor - or as relationships that form out of necessity - like in 90 Day Fiancé. Hamilton telling Speed that he knew their children would be perceived as black in the world even though they would be interracial was an important statement for both Speed and the audience to hear to understand he was ready for the commitment he was about to make.
