Lauren Speed seemingly wasn’t sure whether or not she was ready to marry Cameron Hamilton on Love is Blind until she walked down the aisle. Her hesitation wasn’t an indictment on her. The whole process moved so fast that it’s hard to blame anyone for not being ready.

Lauren and Cameron were the first to connect on Love Is Blind. Their feelings for each other were undeniable, even though they could not see each other. Lauren confessed on the fourth day that she was falling in love with Cameron, and he responded right back that he loved her. He was so sure of his feelings for her before even seeing her. She seemed smitten as well. When they locked eyes for the first time, they were both attracted to one another. Lauren noted that she’d never dated a white man before and wasn’t sure what her family would think. After some trepidation, her mother and father accepted Cameron into their family. Then it was time for Lauren to make a decision on saying “I do.”

In the day before the wedding, Lauren expressed to Cameron that she was unsure whether she would marry him. That has to be terrifying to hear, unless you’re on a reality show where you’ve been told you have a month to meet and get married. Cameron, though, was clearly rattled by Lauren’s admission that she was unsure. Their wedding was the last to air, setting up either a disappointing close to the show or a happy ending.

Lauren’s uncertainty lingered into wedding day, as she stated her doubts even as she was having her makeup done. The show leaned into this drama, having Cameron say “I do” first and pausing before Lauren could say “I do” in return. She did, and the crowd rejoiced, despite being a part of a show where 15 women and 15 men started and only two couples were married.

Many believe that Lauren and Cameron are still together, which is great considering they were a fan favorite from the beginning. Lauren’s hesitation to get married never centered around Cameron, but more likely around the fact that it’s absurd to pledge eternal love to someone you just met. Cameron never had any reservations, as if the Love Is Blind producers had hypnotized him that this will work out from the beginning. The two made a great couple, even if their wedding day was sooner than it probably should have been.
