The final episode of Love Is Blind dropped on Thursday, revealing which couples stay together and which don’t. A surprising amount of relationships end at the altar.

Coming into the finale, it felt as though some relationships might not last until wedding day. Of the six couples to get engaged, only one - Carlton Morton and Diamond Jack - ended. Some, like Damian Powers and Giannina Gibelli, had many trials and tribulations. While others, like Kenny Barnes and Kelly Chase, appeared to be on the right track. Aside from a teaser that showed one woman running off in her wedding dress, fans couldn’t have been fully prepared for what they were about to witness in the last segment of this show.

The finale began where the last episode left off, with Damian mulling over a decision to say “I do.” It seemed like it might be the classic cliffhanger, where a show leaves off at a crucial point to make the audience think that the person in question is going to say the thing that causes the most drama when in fact what they are about to do is completely normal. This was not one of those instances. Damian said, “I don’t” and it turned out the woman in question who was running in her wedding gown was Giannina. It seemed at this point that maybe this is the only relationship that doesn’t end in marriage because, seriously, who waits until getting to the altar to break up with someone?

Two more couples wound up breaking up at the altar. Kelly couldn’t get over the fact that, while Kenny was a gentleman, he didn’t live up to her high standards. And Jessica Batten broke up with Mark Cuevas, who didn’t see it coming (for the life of me, I have no idea how he could have been so blindsided when she told him “I don’t”). Thankfully, not every couple ended things at the last possible moment. Matt Barnett was able to look past Amber Pike’s financial struggles and pledge eternal bliss to the woman he met a few weeks ago. And Lauren Speed said “I do” to Cameron Hamilton, despite stating as she was getting her makeup done on her wedding day that she was unsure what she would say.

The whole premise of Love Is Blind was ridiculous once engagement rings were introduced into the picture. The worst part is that once the couples got engaged, they were instructed to get all the way down the aisle with their chosen partner before announcing their decision of whether or not they wanted to be with that person forever. Seems a little drastic, but at least it got people invested in the show.
