Star of The Real Housewives of New York, Luann de Lesseps played Santa at a children’s hospital over the holidays. Even though at times fan cannot stand Luann’s pretentious ways, she brought joy and happiness to sick children who otherwise would have had a sad Christmas.
De Lesseps is known most for her growing cabaret career, her straight talking ways, and her attention to etiquette. It was an especially rough season of The Real Housewives of New York, which included a divorce from Tom D’Agostino after a short-lived marriage. The real housewife is not only a countess, a TV personality, but was also a former geriatric nurse. While fans assume she’s a stuck-up countess, coming from a middle-class family of seven children, the reality is far from that. After becoming a model and marrying a French aristocrat and joining the Bravo franchise, her life changed, but before she was a household name, she was a nurse.
Fans are more than over the Countess’s cabaret tour but this holiday season de Lesseps stopped at a hospital to hand out toys to sick children. On December 22nd, while on Long Island for her Countess and Friends Christmas show - which was featured at The Paramount - the reality TV star decided to bring some holiday cheer to some hospital-bound children. She stopped by Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York bearing presents to bring some joy to some children. The 54-year-old made sure to take multiple photos with the doctors and nurses while also spending time with the children in their own rooms. Us Weekly also reported that one of the children was actually in quarantine but that did not stop the licensed Connecticut nurse. Check out de Lesseps’s post below:
Staff members asked the Real Housewife of New York City if she would still like to go into the room and without a beat missed, she strapped on a mask and entered the room. According to officials, the singer spent 15 minutes inside giggling with the sick child. The bravo star had no problem blending in and lending a helping hand as it came as second nature to her. The housewife bonded well with the nurses and many enjoyed hearing about de Lesseps’s time as a nurse in which she took care of the elderly.
A big point of the trip was to bring attention to the workers who sacrifice time with their families to stay and help those in need. Also, in what looked like an uncommon characteristic to fans the model extended an invitation to her show later that same night to the nurses so they could have a moment to themselves. De Lesseps gave out VIP passes and offered them a hangout spot backstage with her while she performed. Many of the staff did decide to attend the cabaret show and were sotted being sat in a private section to the right of the stage later that night. In true countess fashion, she ended the night sparkling in her Jovani dress and giving a huge thanks to the nurses who work at the hospital.
