Recent reports suggest that former tag team champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson will not be resigning with the WWE once their contracts expire this fall. The duo arrived on the scene in 2016 alongside former Bullet Club member AJ Styles, but since that stint, the pair has been mishandled by WWE creative on several occasions. It seems the duo have grown tired of their lackluster booking and plan to venture out of WWE as soon as possible. With All Elite Wrestling picking up momentum and reports of an impending TV deal, it shouldn’t come as a shock if Gallows and Anderson join the promotion.

Recently, WWE released multiple talents from their contracts, which is something that occurs every year around this time. However, a couple of the stars released were reportedly frustrated with their booking on the main roster, much like Gallows and Anderson. Ever since the former Bullet Club members were separated from Styles, they have been booked with no real goal in mind. For a while, it seemed they would never win championship gold, but the duo eventually captured the Raw tag team championships at the 2017 Royal Rumble event. Despite that, Gallows and Anderson have still been treated as afterthoughts for most of their tenure with WWE, and now it appears they are fed up with their lack of direction and inconsistent booking.

According to PW Insider, Gallows and Anderson will not be resigning with WWE once their contracts expire. The report mentions that one of the many reasons for their departure is the way they have been handled over the last few years. Appearing at several live events but being featured on SmackDown in short supply, it is no surprise that they want out. The pair reportedly rejected “multi-million-dollar deals” from WWE and plan to exit once their deals end this fall. WWE will possibly try to renegotiate with them, as they don’t want any talent potentially going to All Elite Wrestling.

Gallows and Anderson aren’t the only ones looking to leave, as former WWE champion Dean Ambrose is reportedly set to exit after this year’s WrestleMania XXXV event. In an attempt to stay strong against the rise of All Elite Wrestling, WWE has been trying to resign talent whose contracts are close to expiring. Recently, legendary tag team The Hardy Boyz reunited on SmackDown after it was believed that the two would soon be leaving.

WWE’s tag team division is poorly handled, as there are quite a few teams on the roster, but the company refuses to showcase them all. If Gallows and Anderson do leave, expect other wrestling promotions to try to bring them in. Before their time in WWE, the pair were known for their longevity in the original Bullet Club in New Japan Pro Wrestling, so it seemed like they would be stars in the WWE, but the mishandling of talents who were established outside of the promotion has become a trend of sorts for WWE.

Fans of WWE should expect more wrestlers to leave sooner rather than later if the promotion’s creative writing doesn’t improve. This isn’t the first time talent has wanted out of the company due to creative frustration, as this appears to be the main reason for a lot of the recent talent releases. Gallows and Anderson leaving will probably be best for them as a team, but their contracts with WWE aren’t up for another few months, so anything can happen before their contracts expire.
