Do you use your Mac in multiple languages? Are you moving to a new country or would like to change your Mac’s region setting? Follow along below…
Even if your Mac is set to automatically adjust time and date, you may still want to adjust its region setting. Additionally, you may want to switch your keyboard between multiple languages.
While adding or changing your primary language is self-explanatory, changing your region will adjust how dates, time, and currencies are presented.
Mac: How to change your language and region
- Open System Preferences
- Click Language & Region
- Click + in the bottom left corner to add a new language, choose which you’d like as your primary
- Click Region near the upper right corner of the window to change it
Whether you’d like to change your primary language or add a secondary one to be able to use as you need, click the + sign in the bottom left corner as shown below.
When you add a new language, the system will ask if you’d like to make it your primary language. If not, you can change your primary language at any time by dragging a new one to the top of the list.
Changing your region is straightforward. Click the drop-down in the upper right corner.
