Kids electronics kit makers LittleBits have long used an iOS app to help kids build their own gadgets, but the addition of a Bluetooth LE module means that their creations can now be directly controlled by an iPhone or iPad. A desire to see live images and video from protests about the killing of George Floyd have led to record downloads of the Twitter app. This boosted already high downloads from those wanting to follow coronavirus news. Two different sources, Apptopia and Sensor Tower, both agree that this was Twitter’s biggest-ever week for downloads… TechCrunch says that the protests drove demand in two ways. The site notes that the two firms agree it was a record week globally, but came up with different numbers....

Logitech has now officially announced the Logitech Crayon stylus, with Apple Pencil technology for palm rejection, sub-pixel accuracy and tilt support. It doesn’t seem to support pressure-sensitivity but it is dramatically cheaper. Apple Pencil retails for $99, while the Crayon will cost $49 when it launches this summer into education sales channels. Whilst the palm rejection, accuracy and tilt features appear to be the same as the Apple Pencil, the design of the Crayon diverges in some key ways....

Disney’s Love, Simon sequel TV show has gotten an official title (Love, Victor), but will air on Hulu rather than Disney+. In his latest video, Jon Prosser claims that the upcoming M1X-powered Mac mini will also introduce a new generation of industrial design for Apple’s standalone Mac. This model is expected to replace the higher-end space grey Intel Mac mini in the lineup, with the M1 Mac mini sticking around as the entry-level machine.
